Barrie Police were on patrol in the area of Ferndale Dr and Dunlop St when they observed a vehicle being driven at a very high rate of speed.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver found to have a strong odour of alcohol on his breath.
The driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Barrie Police Service for a series of breath tests.
The accused provided breath samples that were almost double the legal limit.
The 28 year old accused was issued a September court date, a ninety (90) day licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven (7) days.
