Impaired Care and Control

On the 20th of August 2014 at approximately 1pm, a female was operating a vehicle on a north end street when she collided into a parked vehicle. An off-duty police officer happened to be in the area and attended to assist the female driver. When the officer approached the vehicle he observed that the female fortunately was not injured, but unfortunately for her was suspected to be impaired by alcohol.

The officer placed the female under arrest for impaired care and control and contacted the Barrie Police to report the incident. When Barrie Police arrived on scene they continued the arrest and transported the female back to the station in regards to obtaining a sample of her breath. The sample showed that the female was nearly twice the legal limit.

The 24 year old Barrie female was charged and provided a September court date for the offence of impaired care and control of a motor vehicle.
