Domestic Disturbance

On the 20th of August 2014, the female victim was contacted by her ex boyfriend and requested to meet in order to reconcile their relationship. The female victim agreed to meet him at a south end location within the City of Barrie. The victim was reluctant as the ex-boyfriend was already on a restraining order based on past relationship issues.

Upon meeting the male, the victim quickly realized that a productive conversation would not be accomplished as the male was observed to be intoxicated. The female victim attempted to leave on her bicycle. The male grabbed the females bike and pushed it to the ground at which time he pushed her to the ground as well and demanded she stay. The female was able to escapes on her bicycle but was given chase by the male. She was able to get away and later attended home where she contacted police.

Barrie Police conducted their investigation and determined that the male involved in the assault, had been arrested by Barrie Police a few hours after the incident for being intoxicated in a public place. The male at the time of the investigation was currently sobering in the cells.

The investigating officer attended back to the cells and notified the male that instead of being released upon being sober, he was now going to be held for a bail hearing based on the allegations of domestic assault.

The 19 year old Barrie male is now facing charges of Domestic assault and breaching his probation. He was held pending a bail hearing.
