Seeking witnesses to a Robbery in the Barrhaven Area

(Ottawa) On Saturday August 23rd 2014, shortly after 10:30 pm, a woman in her mid 20s was walking alone in the community of Barrhaven, when she was accosted by a male at the intersection of Fairlop Way and Wanstead Drive. The male grabbed her and brought her to the ground with considerable force. She suffered significant, non life-threatening injuries during the assault that followed.

The woman sought the assistance of a resident on the street and the suspect fled on foot, taking the victim’s purse.

The male suspect is described as a tanned skin male, in his 20’s, wearing a short sleeved white T-shirt and shorts. He had short dark hair with a medium build and was between 5’5 (165 cm) and 5’9″ (175 cm). He spoke English with no accent. The suspect may have an injury to one his fingers
