Monday August 25, 2014 at 11:52PM police responded to the area of King Street West and Gaukel street regarding a robbery. A 62 year old male was approached by another mlae at the entrance of the Grand River Transit Bus Terminal who then asked him for a cigarette. The suspect male then grabbed at the victim’s neck and tore off a gold chain he was wearing . A struggle ensued during which the suspect lost hold of the chain. The victim was not injured. The suspect was located a short distance away and placed under arrest. A 56 year old Kitchener man was charged with robbery and released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
