On Thursday August 28, 2014 at 6:00 PM Waterloo Regional Police and the Cambridge Fire Department responded to a house fire on Maryann Price Lane in the Hespeler area of Cambridge. Upon arrival by emergency services, the basement was fully involved. One of the owner’s 4 cats perrished in the blaze but 3 were saved by quick work by firefighters. The fire started in connection with the careless use of a household product by one of the occupants. No charges will be laid. Damage to the residence is estimated at $100,000.
