(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A 35 year old female driver is facing a Racing charge after she was stopped for speeding on August 29, 2014. At 11:43 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spotted a Hyundai Sonata travelling at a high rate of speed southbound on London Road near Summerhill Road.
The officer activated his RADAR and took a speed measurement of the vehicle. The vehicle was travelling at a high speed of 144 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone. A traffic stop was completed and the driver was subsequently charged.
As a result, Amanda DA COSTA GOMEZ, 35, from Saugeen Shores has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle. She has a court appearance scheduled for October 7, 2014 at Provincial Offences Court – Goderich. Her driver’s licence has been suspended for seven days and her motor vehicle was also impounded for seven days.
