David Beattie Found Hiding From Police In Ditch – Theft, Breach, etc. etc.

Third Suspect Nabbed by Owen Sound Police

Officers from the Owen Sound Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch, CORE Unit and Uniform Patrol successfully apprehended a third suspect wanted by Owen Sound Police and the Ontario Provincial Police for numerous offences related to vehicle thefts in the region.

On Friday September 5th, 2014 two persons were arrested near a west side housing complex. The wanted male fled on foot and eluded a search by Owen Sound Police and Ontario Provincial Police officers.

On Monday September 8th, 2014 at approximately 12:20pm the wanted male was spotted in an eastside parking lot. As police moved in to arrest the male he again fled on foot. A foot chase ensued and officers who had been positioned in the area converged on the wanted male.

The male was contained to a small bush area on 16th Avenue East, north of 16th Street East. After a brief search the male was found hiding in a ditch and taken into custody.

Eighteen year old David Beattie, from Owen Sound faces a number of charges related vehicle thefts in Owen Sound and failing to comply with conditions of his Probation Orders. Beattie will also be facing numerous charges by the Ontario Provincial Police.

Beattie is to appear in Court on September 9th, 2014 for a bail hearing.
