On September 9, 2014, the Guelph Police went to an address on Tiffany Street in an attempt to locate a wanted person. As a result, the Guelph Police Service Drug Unit entered into a drug investigation and two males were subsequently arrested. In the early morning of September 10, 2014, Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants were executed at 58 Tiffany Street East. Inside the residence police discovered, 239.76 grams of heroin, 21.96 grams of crack cocaine worth a combined street value of $77,300, a loaded prohibited handgun, ammunition, and $3,095 in cash.
A 27-year-old Guelph man has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and numerous firearms offences.
A 25-year-old Guelph man has been charged with 2 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and numerous firearms offences.
Both were held in custody pending a bail hearing on September 10, 2014.
