(GODERICH, ON) – A 58 year old male driver is facing a charge of Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol after he was stopped by police on September 12, 2014. Police received information the involved driver had been drinking alcohol and was now driving his vehicle. Just after 7:00 p.m., a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed the suspect vehicle, a Cadillac SRX, travelling south on South Street.
The officer spoke with the driver and made some observations the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening test was administered which the driver failed. He was arrested and transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He provided two breath samples to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples registered over the legal limit.
As a result, 58 year old Christopher BASDEN from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on October 6, 2014. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
