Robbery

Occurrence #: BA14-044808
Date: Thursday, September 18, 2014 – 8:00am
On the 18th of September 2014, a 31 year old male entered a south end sandwich shop and ordered a breakfast sandwich. When the employee rang in the order and requested payment from the male, he subsequently pulled out a large kitchen knife, jumped on to the counter and demanded the employee open the till.

The employee cooperated with the demands, supplied the attacker with cash from the till at which time the male took the money and fled the area.

Police were immediately contacted and attended the area to investigate. Officers were able to set up a perimeter and conduct a K9 track in an attempt to locate the suspect.

The K9 unit tracked to a residential area at which time the scent appeared to end. Fortunately officers were aware of a problem residence within the area of where the K9 track ended. Officers attended the residence in order to continue their investigation and located a male matching the description of the robbery suspect.

Once completed their investigation, the male suspect was arrested for Robbery and Weapons Dangerous Criminal Code of Canada. He was transported to the station where he was held pending a bail hearing.
