Yesterday just before noon, two Chatham men got into a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation on Wellington St. in front of St. Joseph’s church. One of the men brandished a knife during the altercation.
Both men were arrested by Chatham-Kent Police without incident and transported to cells. Neither of the two men involved sustained any injuries as a result of this altercation.
Subsequently, Gary CROSBY (44) of Chatham was charged with Assault and Cause Disturbance. In addition, Charles DEBRUYN (32) of Chatham was charged with Assault with a Weapon and Cause Disturbance. Both men were later released on Promise to Appear with a future court date.
