Date: Monday, September 22, 2014 – 8:30pm
At 8:30pm, Barrie Police were called to Bayfield St and Livingston St. for a large gasoline spill.
Police worked with Barrie Fire to close the Bayfield St to ensure the spill did not ignite.
A midsize car and it’s owner were located nearby. The owner advised Police his gas tank had punctured and after his gasoline drained onto the roadway he stalled out on Bayfield St.
Police were able to tow the vehicle to a safe place and allow Fire to clean the gasoline spill.
Police are continuing to investigate this incident but do not suspect foul play.
Bayfield St was opened for traffic at 9:50pm
