The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man for his own safety.
Around 4:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police received information that a man was acting belligerent on King Street near Adelaide Street in Chatham.
Officers located the man near the CP Rail Crossing. The man was taken into custody as he was unable to care for himself. The 47-year-old Chatham man was charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He was released when sober.
