Laptop Stolen From Unlocked Pickup Truck – Listowel

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Monday September 22, 2014, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were contacted by a Listowel resident reporting theft of items from an unlocked vehicle.

The victim advised that a pickup truck had been left unlocked on the driveway of their Centennial Court residence. Sometime between 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 20, 2014 and 4:00 p.m. Sunday September 21, 2014, an unknown suspect entered the pickup truck and removed a laptop and a briefcase.

“I would like to remind residents and vehicle owners that thefts from vehicles are crimes of opportunity. An unlocked vehicle door or an open window is an invitation to thieves. Taking valuables into your homes and keeping them out of view could prevent you from becoming a victim of theft” – Staff Sergeant Joel Skelding Perth County OPP.

Anyone with information about this theft or any other crime is requested to contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000
