(GODERICH, ON) – Members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Victoria Street and Elgin Avenue in the Town of Goderich Ontario on the 13th of September 2014 at 5:26 p.m.
The investigation revealed that an officer, operating a fully marked Crown Victoria police cruiser with emergency lights and siren activated, entered into the intersection against a red light after stopping. While in the intersection, the officer collided with a 2012 Jeep motor vehicle that had the right-of-way.
Damage to both vehicles was moderate and no injuries were reported.
As a result of the investigation, the OPP issued Constable Mark BOYD, a 4-year member of the Huron County OPP, a Provincial Offence notice for Failing to Yield to Traffic contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
