Theft Under $5000

A 33 year old Barrie man entered a Bayfield Street grocery store and loaded up a basket full of meat. The suspect fled the store and the manager gave chase. The manager caught the suspect, who then returned the meat. Barrie Police Service was then contacted and located the suspect a few blocks away. He was arrested for Theft and police discovered he was also breaching two probation orders by not keeping the peace. The accused was charged with Theft Under $5000 and two counts of Failing to Comply with Probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
