At the intersection of St. Vincent Street and Blake Street a pick-up truck struck the rear of a compact car. Barrie Police officers responded and investigated. The driver of the compact car sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention. The driver of the pick-up truck, a 32 year old Barrie man, was arrested for being impaired by drugs. He was transported to the station where he attempted obstruct the officer by watering down his urine sample he lawfully had to provide. The accused was then taken to local hospital where blood samples were obtained. The blood will later be analyzed to determine if the accused had drugs in his body. During the arrest the accused had a cane with a sword inside of it. The accused was on probation not to consume drugs, not to possess a weapon and to keep the peace. The accused was charged with Drive While Ability is Impaired by Drugs, Obstruct Police Officer, and three counts of Failing to Comply with Probation. The accused was held for bail.
