(DUNDALK, ON) – The Grey County OPP is investigating reports of overnight thefts from the town of Dundalk. Between 10:00 pm on September 28th, 2011 and 3:30 am on September 29th, 2011 property was taken from vehicles and residences along Gold Street and Hagen Street. Stolen items include a quantity of cash, wallets and an assortment of tools. The value of the stolen items is estimated at more than $1,200. In an effort to help protect vehicle owners from further theft, the Grey County OPP is offering motorists the following tips from the OPP Crime Prevention Section “Lock It or Lose It†program:
Always roll up the vehicle’s windows, lock the door and pocket the key
If you have a garage, use it – lock the door as well as the vehicle
Always park your vehicle in a well lit area
Never leave valuables or packages in plain sight. Secure them in the trunk
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the Grey County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
