Domestic Assault

On the 5th of October 2014 at 3:30am, Barrie Police responded to a domestic disturbance at a south end gas station.

It is alleged that the accused 27 year old male from Innisfil had contacted his ex-girlfriend on numerous occasions in attempts to get her to pick him up as he was in an intoxicated state. After several phone calls the victim finally agreed to attend and pick up the accused.

Immediately upon pick up, the accused male began arguing with the victim over past relationship issues. The males aggressive voice was escalating at which time the female pulled into the gas station with the hopes of obtaining help from the gas attendant.

The accused male then exited the vehicle attended the driver side and began pulling on the victim’s arm and threatening to punch her in the face. As the victim fearfully resisted, the accused then jumped on the hood of the vehicle and began stomping on the hood.

The victim ran from the car and had the attendant call 911. Once the accused realized police were attending he fled the area.

Through investigation it was revealed the accused was bound by a probation order not to communicate with the victim in regards to a previous assault.

The accused was later located at his mothers residence where he was arrested and held pending a bail hearing.

The accused male is now facing charges of assault, uttering threats, mischief under $5000 and breach of probation.
