The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a domestic disturbance last night in Chatham.
On September 5, 2014, the man was released from custody with several conditions. The man agreed not to communicate with a specific woman, not to attend within 50 metres of her residence or to be outside his residence with alcohol in his system.
Around 8:30 p.m. last night, the man observed the woman near a restaurant on Grand Avenue East. The man began yelling at her in a threatening manner. A short time later, the woman observed the man in her front yard throwing a landscaping brick through her living room window. Damage was estimated at $500. The man fled the area prior to police arrival.
At approximately 10:00 p.m. police located the man on Vanier Drive. Upon speaking with him, a strong odour of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from his breath.
The 32-year-old Chatham man has been charged with uttering threats, mischief under $5000 and two counts of failing to comply. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
