On Oct 6th at approximately 5am in the area of St Vincent St and Blake St, the victim was walking in his driveway when he observed an unknown male sitting inside his vehicle.
The victim observed the suspect steal several items and exit the vehicle and begin to run away.
The victim realizing the suspect was stealing his property grabbed the accused and the pair began to struggle.
The accused punched the victim in the face and bit him on the hand.
Fortunately, several neighbours came to the victim’s assistance and called Police who arrived shortly and took custody of the suspect.
All stolen property appears to have been recovered.
A 32 year old Barrie male was arrested and transported to the Barrie Police Service for a bail hearing
He is facing charges of assault x2, theft under $5000, possession of stolen property under $5000, prowl by night and 3 counts of breach probation.
The victim sought medical attention at RVH for minor injuries.
