Woman Charged with Fraud

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman in connection with a bank fraud.

In May 2014, a bank contacted police to report that on two separate days, the same woman had made ATM deposits with empty envelopes. After each of the six ATM deposits, the woman withdrew money.

Through investigation, police identified the woman responsible for making the fraudulent transactions.

Last night, police located the woman and she was taken into custody. Mary Lacombe, 51 years, of Sandys Street in Chatham has been charged with two counts of fraud under $5000. She was released with conditions pending a future court date.
