Police received a call to a south end residence for a family dispute where a male was banging at the door to get in. When officers arrived they were informed that several assaults had occurred over the last few days where a male had struck a female with kitchen utensils.
It was also learned that during the on-going dispute, the male had threatened to kill the family pet.
A 61 year old Barrie male was taken into custody charged with assault, assault with a weapon and utter threats to harm an animal.
