On Monday afternoon, the police were called to attend a Bayfield St. business in regards to two youths attempting to cash a fraudulent cheque. Upon arrival the officers were able to apprehend a 14 year old male, the second male had fled the scene prior to their arrival. The youth was taken to the police station for further investigation. The second youth a 16 year old male was identified and later arrested. Both were charged with uttering a forged document. The 16 year old was also charged with theft under $5,000.00 and released by way of a promise to appear. The 14 year old was also charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000.00, he was held pending a bail hearing due to the execution of an outstanding bench warrant for other property related offences.
