12:00 noon police received a report of a theft of a bank card and the subsequent withdrawal of two sums of money. Police are investigating.
5:28 pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Goderich and Mary St. Police are investigating.

8:23 am police received a report of mischief to a mail box at an apartment building. Someone placed some object or debris into the key lock of the mail box.
6:57 pm police responded to a deer versus car collision on Peel St in Southampton. The deer had to be put down and the vehicle had to be towed.
7:36 pm police responded to a report of a possible impaired driver. A driver reported that another driver passed her car and lost control driving into the ditch on Railway St. The vehicle exited the ditch and continued south on Hwy 21. Police stopped the vehicle in Port Elgin the driver was not impaired but charged with Failing to Drive in marked lane. The damage to his vehicle was under $1000.

8:45 am police received a report of a bicycle stolen from the side of a residence. No suspects. Police located the bicycle on the lawn of the UPI Gas Bar and returned it to its owner.

5:27 pm police responded to a report of mischief to a vehicle in a rear yard. Sometime overnight someone broke the driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in a Port Elgin back yard. The damage is estimated at $500.
10:28 pm police received a report of a hit and run motor vehicle collision at an apartment parking lot. The collision was witnessed. Police are investigating.

1:30 pm police observed a male known to be on a driving prohibition from an Impaired Driving conviction. The male was driving an ebike under power. He was charged for driving while disqualified and his vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

Over the past few weeks we have received quite a few complaints of election signs being stolen, removed and or damaged. This is actually a criminal offence of either theft or mischief and is not worth the statement you are making by doing anything with the sign. The election is over now but there will be elections in the future. Please allow democracy to play out and vote but don’t remove election signs.
7:00 pm police received a report of a female passed out behind the steering wheel of a vehicle on Cemetery Road. The vehicle started to drive away upon police arrival and was stopped. The driver was arrested for Impaired Driving and provided readings of 290 mgms and 280 mgms back at the office, the legal limit is 80 mgms. Tracy Lynn Smith 43 years of Saugeen Shores faces charges of Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80 mgms.

4:37 am, police responded to an Emerald Drive residence to a report of an unknown male possibly intoxicated banging on the rear door of the residence. The male was intoxicated and tried to get into the wrong residence. No charges.
