Date: Friday, October 31, 2014 – 7:30pm
On the 31st of October 2014, at approximately 7:30 pm, police received a call in regards to unknown persons causing damage to mail boxes along Miller Drive in Barrie. The original belief was that the unknown persons were operating a vehicle and knocking over mailboxes at the end of driveways.
Upon police arrival, investigating officers revealed that the damage was not as a result of a mischief but an impaired driver. A female was found with damage to her vehicle and in an intoxicated state. She was immediately arrested for the impaired operation and transported to the station where she provide a sample of her breath and was 2 1/2 times the legal limit.
The 40 year old female was charged and later released on a promise to appear with a court date of mid-November.
With the number of trick or treaters out walking around, police have advised that we are very fortunate no one was hurt in this incident.
