Impaired drivers are most often detected through RIDE spot checks or during a traffic stop where the officer has reasonable suspicion that the driver may be impaired.

If you suspect a driver is impaired, please call 911 immediately. Be prepared to give physical descriptors of the vehicle and direction of travel. We would rather initiate a traffic stop to further investigate rather than respond to a collision.
