On November 10, 2014 at 5:35 p.m., the Guelph Police went to Gordon Street at Dormie Lane for a collision between a cyclist and a motor vehicle. It is alleged that the cyclist was north bound on Gordon and struck a vehicle as the vehicle turned left onto Dormie Lane from Gordon. The cyclist received minor injuries and was also charged with improper lighting under the Highway Traffic Act.
The Guelph Police would like to remind bicycle riders that the law requires a white headlight and a rear reflector or taillight. Use your headlight ½ hour before dusk and ½ hour after sunrise to increase your visibility. It is also wise to stay away from dark coloured clothing while riding.
