Police Cruiser Struck & Totalled – Holly LOUCAS Charged

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) – On Thursday November 13, 2014, shortly before 8:30 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was operating a fully marked OPP cruiser south bound on Hwy. 23, responding to a personal injury motor vehicle collision along Hwy. 23 south of Mitchell.

As the cruiser approached the intersection of Line 32 with its lights and siren activated, a Dodge Ram pickup travelling west bound on Line 32, crossed Hwy 23 directly in front of the cruiser. The front of the cruiser collided with the passenger side rear corner of the pickup truck. The impact totalled the cruiser and caused minor damage to the pickup truck.

The female driver of the pickup truck was uninjured, while the Perth County OPP Constable, operating the cruiser sustained minimal injuries. The officer was transported to local hospital for treatment and has since been released.

Holly LOUCAS (43) of Paris has been charged with, “Fail to yield to traffic on through highway”.
