(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Thursday November 24, 2011 around 1:15 a.m. Perth County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program in Milverton when a vehicle was observed attempting to evade the spot check.
Officers followed the vehicle south on Perth Road 131 and west onto Line 61 where it made contact with a 911 address sign before stopping for police. The lone male occupant was found to be a youth who had taken his parents vehicle without their knowledge. The 16 year old male from the Township of Perth East has been summonsed to court for the charges of “careless drivingâ€Â, and “drive motor vehicle with no licenceâ€Â. He is to appear in Stratford Court on January 10, 2012 to answer to these charges. The vehicle was retrieved from the scene by the youth’s parents and it is estimated have sustained approximately $1000 damage.
