At last night’s council meeting, council agreed to put one of our pickups back on the road, and permanently retire the other. The one truck only needs about $500 worth of repairs to make it safer and/or road worthy. The other will not go back on the road, as the cost to fix would be too high.
North Huron plans on replacing the retired truck with a used one, at a cost of up to $15,000.
Town staff and Councillors have been working on the new budget, and preliminary numbers may be released in the coming weeks.
At this time, we do not know if their will be an increase or a decrease in our taxes.
