(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Wednesday March 07, 2012 Perth County OPP officers in Listowel were dispatched to two separate entries into motor vehicles involving the theft of tools.
A resident from Halstead Ave. North reported that sometime between 11 p.m. on Tuesday March 06 and 6 a.m. March 07, unknown person(s) entered his unlocked pickup truck and removed approximately $4000 worth of electrician tools.
During the same time-frame a second unlocked pickup truck was entered while parked in a residential driveway on Victoria Ave. North. Two tool pouches filled with miscellaneous tools were removed from a storage unit located on the side of the truck cap. These stolen tools have an estimated value of $3500.
Residents are urged to lock their vehicles and remove valuables from inside when they are parked unattended. If you need to leave valuable items inside, place the items out of sight or park your vehicle in a locked garage.
