North Huron Home Invasion – Lock Your Doors

(North Huron, ON) At 9:15 pm on Boxing Day, a young woman was in her family home with her boyfriend watching television when they heard footsteps inside the residence. Assuming it was her brother; the woman called out but got no response. She went upstairs to check on the noise and found an unknown male hiding in her parents’ room. The male fled down the stairs and into the path of the woman’s boyfriend who got into a scuffle with the suspect while attempting to remove him from the residence. Once he was outside the home, police were called. A backpack was located inside the home that identified the suspect who was later arrested at his brother’s residence. It is now believed that the male was familiar with the residence through another family member.

The 17 year old North Huron male remains in police custody and is facing one count of Break & Enter and one count of Assault.
