At last night’s council meeting, Council discussed what they
consistently referred to as “demands†from Morris-Turnberry
regarding fire service. Several Councillors were speaking as if they
were victims of bullying. The reality is that Morris-Turnberry is
trying to negotiate with North Huron. It is North Huron that is
reluctant to return to the negotiating table, and if they do, they
don’t want witnesses.
Morris-Turnberry sent council a very polite letter, outlining 3
options they would like North Huron to comment on or discuss. They
even asked council to advise them if they would like to set up a
meeting.
North Huron council rejected all three options, and after a lengthy
discussion agreed to request two meetings with Morris-Turnberry. The
only people that North Huron wants at the first meeting are all of
the Councillors and some town staff. bold;”>The public and Press will not be allowed to attend if North
Huron has their way. If there is a second meeting
