(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Tuesday June 05 2012, shortly before 8 p.m., a Perth County OPP officer on patrol observed two males operating dirt bikes on Road 102 without helmets. Upon observing the cruisers activated emergency lights the dirt bike operators left the roadway, cut across a field, and unsuccessfully tried to hide in a shed at the back of a rural property. The officer located an adult male and a youth.
The fifty year old adult male (father), a resident of The Township of Perth East has been charged with “driver – fail to stop when directed by policeâ€Â, “owner operate motor vehicle on highway – no insuranceâ€Â, and “fail to wear proper helmetâ€Â. He is to appear in Stratford Court on July 10, 2012 to answer to these charges. The youth (son) received warnings.
