(ST.MARYS, ON) On Saturday July 07, 2012 shortly after 11 p.m., Perth County OPP officers in St.Marys were dispatched to the Grand Trunk Trail overpass at Emily Street.
A cement bench had been tossed from the top of the overpass to the road below destroying the bench and creating a hazard to traffic. The officers cleared the roadway and subsequently discovered that a porta potty along the trail had also been pushed over.
The Perth County OPP is requesting anyone with information about this senseless damage to this wonderful trail, to contact them immediately. It is heart breaking to see the trail damaged when it was so beautifully developed by donations from so many generous citizens. The OPP can be contacted at 1-888-310-1122.
