155 in an 80 On Way To See Girlfriend

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Thursday September 21, 2012, shortly after 3 p.m. a Perth County OPP officer was conducting patrols along Perth Line 55 east of Monkton when a fast moving east bound pickup truck was observed.

The officer activated the police radar and a speed of 155 km/h was registered for the truck, which is 75 km/h above the posted speed limit of 80 km/h.

The pickup truck was operated by a 19 year old male from Howick Twp. who was on his way to see his girlfriend. He was issued a summons for “racing a motor vehicle”, and is scheduled to appear in Stratford Court on October 23, 2012 to answer to this charge. His driver’s licence was seized and has been returned to the Ministry of Transportation as it is suspended for 7 days. His Chevrolet Silverado was towed from the scene and has been impounded for 7 days.
