(HURON EAST, ON) – Officers from the Huron County OPP Detachment are investigating an explosion that occurred inside a barn located on Bridge Road approximately one kilometer east of Maple Line. Huron OPP officers, Huron County paramedics and Seaforth Fire Department personnel arrived on scene just before 12:30 p.m. on September 30, 2012.
Two males were draining manure inside the pig barn when the explosion occurred. A 15 year old male from Huron East and a 25 year old male also from Huron East were transported by air ambulance to Victoria Hospital in London with serious injuries.
The Ministry of Labour and Ontario Fire Marshal’s office have been contacted to assist with the investigation. At this point the cause of the explosion is undetermined.
