On Friday November 2, 2012 at 7:20 p.m., Guelph police responded to a collision at the intersection of College Avenue West Guelph and the Hanlon Expressway between an unmarked police vehicle and another vehicle. Investigation revealed that the vehicle was stopped for a red light at the intersection when it was struck from behind by the police vehicle.
There were no injuries as a result of this collision.
The damage to the police vehicle was estimated at $500.00 while the other vehicle sustained damage estimated at $1500.00-$2000.00.
The officer has been charged with Start from Stopped Position Not in Safety under the Highway Traffic Act.
