Scott Bergman – Dangerous Driving, Flight From Police etc etc etc.

On Saturday November 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., Guelph Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Stone Road East Guelph with emergency lights activated. As the officer attempted to pass a blue GMC pickup truck, it accelerated in front of the cruiser and failed to pull over to the right as required. The vehicle then turned north on Watson Parkway South where the officer observed the passenger door open and a male jump out of the moving truck. The vehicle continued north on Watson Parkway South, and the officer stopped to check on the well-being of the passenger.

A short time later another officer attempted to stop the vehicle as it sped off on Watson Road North. The officer discontinued the pursuit for public-safety concerns.

The vehicle was later stopped by the Ontario Provincial Police north of Fergus, and the male driver was arrested for Dangerous Driving and Flight from Police. The vehicle was searched subsequent to arrest, and a small amount of marihuana was located.

The passenger of the vehicle sustained a laceration to his head and several cuts and bruises. He was treated at Guelph General Hospital and released.

Scott BERGMAN 41 years of Harriston was charged with Dangerous Driving, Flight from Police, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence, Drive Motor Vehicle No Validation on Plate, Use Plate Not Authorized, Fail to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle and Fail to Surrender Insurance Card. He was held for a Bail Hearing.
