R.I.D.E. PROGRAM WILL BE UTILIZING THE OPP MOBILE COMMAND POST

(ST.MARYS, ON) On Friday November 30, 2012, between 6 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., the Perth County OPP will be conducting a large Festive R.I.D.E. program (Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere), on Queen St. West in St.Marys (in front of the St.Marys Golf Course).

A large contingent of OPP officers will be utilizing marked cruisers and the West Region OPP mobile command post which will be equipped with an Intoxilyzer.

The media is welcome to attend, observe, and speak with officers involved in this program.

Police visibility at R.I.D.E. checks serves to not only enforce the current drinking laws, but also educate and influence the common motorist for reduction of speed, the benefits of wearing seatbelts and the risks of driving distracted. By focusing on these common factors the goal is to reduce injuries and ultimately save lives in Perth County.
