IMPAIRED DRIVER AND PASSENGER ARRESTED
(GREENOCK TWP, ON) On January 24, 2013 at 11:04 pm, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 2000 block of Concession 14 in Greenock Township. Officers located the Silver Pontiac Sunfire and found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. The driver refused to cooperate and fought with officers as they arrested him. Pepper spray was used and he was arrested without further incident. 35 year old Brent NEWNS of Kincardine has been charged with Refuse to provide breath sample, Resist peace officer and Drive while suspended. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 4, 2013 to answer to the charges. There were no injuries to the police or the accused.
A passenger in the car interfered with the officers while they were dealing with the driver. 37 year old Renee INDOE of Brockton has been charged Obstruct peace officer. She is scheduled to appear in court on March 4, 2013 to answer to the charge.
