(BLUEWATER, ON) On January 26, 2013 at approximately 8:30 a.m. Huron OPP officers responded to a two vehicle collision that took place on Bluewater Veterans Highway at Centennial Road. Officers determined a northbound Mazda M5 was following another vehicle that was attempting to turn east onto Centennial Road. As the lead vehicle slowed to make its turn the trailing Mazda collided with it. Nobody was injured in the collision. When officers were speaking with the driver of the Mazda officers determined she had been drinking alcohol. The driver failed a roadside test, was transported to the Huron OPP detachment where she later provided two tests above the legal limit.
As a result, a 17 year old female from London has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, Young Driver – Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero and Follow too Closely. She has a court appearance scheduled for Youth Justice Court, Goderich on March 8, 2013. She also received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
