(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Saturday afternoon April 17, 2010 a Perth County OPP officer was checking for seatbelt violations while on patrol in the village of Milverton. The officer observed a pickup truck on Main St. S. being operated by a driver who was not wearing a seatbelt.
Richard Heintz (45) of the Township of Perth East was stopped. He was found to be a prohibited driver due to a prior impaired driving conviction. He was arrested for driving while disqualified and was subsequently released on a Promise to Appear. He is to attend court in Stratford on May 31, 2010 to answer to this charge.
The man’s pickup truck was impounded for 45 days because it was being operated by someone who was under suspension as a result of a Criminal Code conviction. In addition he was also charged with failing to wear his seatbelt which cost him $240.00 and netted him two demerit points.
