(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have charged an 18 year old male with Assault and Impaired Driving in relation to an incident that took place at the Grand Bend Motorplex campground located on Grand Bend Line. On May 19, 2013 shortly before 6:00 a.m. officers responded to a call for assistance from security officers regarding an erratic driver on the campground property. Security officers reported a Chevrolet Malibu was doing burnouts on the property and when they attempted to restrain the male he became assaultive.
Huron County OPP officers arrived and arrested the male for Impaired Driving and Assault.
Derek MOTA, 18, from LaSalle has been charged with Impaired Driving and Assault. He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on July 15, 2013. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension.
