(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) Shortly after 10 p.m. on Tuesday April 27, 2010 Perth County OPP officers were called to a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Line 32 and Road 145 between Sebringville and Mitchell.
Investigation revealed that the motor vehicle (a pickup truck) had left the roadway and entered the south ditch east of the intersection. The driver of the truck was helped out of the truck by police. The male driver displayed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested and transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville where he registered over .080 mgs. on the Intoxilyzer.
The driver was also found to be in possession of stolen property and was driving while being disqualified. The driver was held for a bail hearing in Stratford Court on Wednesday April 28, 2010.
John Wilson (47) of The Municipality of West Perth was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired and with operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of blood alcohol content. He has also been charged with theft over $5000 and driving while being disqualified. He is set to appear in criminal court on May 17, 2010 in Stratford to answer to the charges.
The vehicle operated by Mr. Wilson has also been impounded for 45 days.
