(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police officers have charged a 22 year old male with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol following a two vehicle collision June 7, 2013. At 7:41 p.m. Huron OPP officers responded to the collision scene located at the intersection of Elgin Avenue East and Victoria Street South. Officers received information that the driver of a Dodge Caravan travelling westbound on Elgin Avenue East swerved into the curb lane, the Caravan mounted the curb, partially left the roadway and collided with the rear of a Pontiac Montana that was stopped at the intersection. No injuries were reported to police.
Officers spoke with the driver of the Dodge Caravan and determined he was impaired by alcohol. He was promptly arrested for impaired driving. He was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath; both over the legal limit.
As a result, Nolan HUTCHISON, age 22, from Central Huron has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on July 15, 2013. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
