Dirt Bike Refuses To Stop For Police

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) On Friday June 14, 2013, at approximately 3:15pm, a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on patrol in the Town of Palmerston. The officer observed a dirt bike leave a gas station and accelerate very quickly. Attempts were made to stop the motor vehicle and were unsuccessful. The driver was later identified.

A male age 17 of Howick Township is charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Flight From a Police Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is also charged with Drive a Motor Vehicle with No Licence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, and Operate a Motor Vehicle with No Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Youth Criminal Court on July 31, 2013.
