Citizens Demand Police Do Their Jobs – 18 Speeding Tickets In Two Hours

(KINCARDINE, ON) On June 13, 2013 at 7:30 am, members of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) monitored the speed of vehicles travelling along Queen Street North in Kincardine in response to concerns from the community. Between 7:30 am and 9:30 am, 18 speeding tickets were issued.

Every day speed is a factor in serious injury or fatal crashes on Ontario roadways. In a 2012 survey of crashes in the South Bruce OPP detachment area, Violating Rules of the Road ranked 2nd as a contributing factor.

The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or send a web-tip to crimestop-gb.org, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
